A PERVERTED nurse who fondled a seriously-ill patient's breasts when he was supposed to be giving her an injection was kicked out of the profession yesterday.

The 23-year-old woman had been admitted to hospital with suspected blood clots on her lungs, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) heard.

She was in a potentially life-threatening condition when Jason Regala, 28, a nurse on the emergency assessment unit in North Tees Hospital, told her to remove her clothes so he could give her a jab.

The Filipino nurse pretended he needed to examine her chest because she was suffering from breathlessness, but started stroking her breasts instead, it is claimed.

The NMC heard the woman, who was diagnosed with bilateral pulmonary embolisms, had recently given birth and would have had a very sensitive and painful chest.

Regala was caught out when 'patient A' asked her doctor why she had to have a breast examination.

Matron of the ward, Gail Finckin, told the panel: "I received a phone call from the ward manager to say that there had been an incident reported to her. …
