KateMcCann attended Portimao police station in the Algarve accompanied by herlawyer, Carlos Pinto de Abreu, who drove from Lisbon to be present. Herhusband, Gerry, will be interviewed at the same place tomorrow. JustineMcGuinness, a spokeswoman for the McCanns - who have postponed plans to returnon Sunday to their home in Rothley, Leicestershire, after four months inPortugal - read a statement outside the building. She said: "Kate and Gerry arehappy to help the police in their investigations to find their daughterMadeleine, as they have been since she was taken. "Kate continues to believethat Madeleine is still alive, and to hope and pray that she will be returnedsoon. Kate is a loving, gentle mother - one of the victims in an extraordinaryand terrible set of events." Mrs McCann also spoke outside the station, saying:"I miss Madeleine so much. Gerry and I want to appeal again to the person orpeople who took her or know who took her to do the right thing. It is not toolate - please let her go or call the police." Portuguese police said all leavehad been cancelled for the team of officers working on the case after theresults of forensic science tests were received from a laboratory inBirmingham. A family spokeswoman said: "Kate is certainly going into the policestation holding her head high and knowing she is doing everything she can tofind her daughter. Gerry will be doing the same tomorrow." She said the couplewere notified of the interviews on Monday following an official request toattend by the Policia Judiciaria, which is investigating the case.
