THERE were goals galore on the opening weekend of the season - especially in the Under-11 Division.

Mark Dodds fired home a hat-trick but still only managed to earn Winlaton a 4-4 draw at Blaydon who had Josh Armstrong on target with half their goals.

Meanwhile, Sheriff Hill were 9-0 winners over Consett with Josh Golightly helping himself to four goals and Alex Nicholson and Aaron Watkins scored two each.

Ryton Vipers also piled up an impressive score with Josh Scott bagging a hat-trick and Jake Taylor and Craig Barker two goals each as they beat Whickham Fellside Yellows 9-2.

Luke Day's treble was the feature of Leam Rangers' 7-0 Under-12 win over Clara Vale, while Thomas McAloon netted twice as Consett eased out Redheugh 5-3.

Daniel Lovett scored twice in Felling's 5-2 win over Burnopfield, and there was a double for Liam Wilson as Cleveland Hall Yellows sank Rutherfords 5-0.

A Shaun Dickinson double paved the way for an 8-1 Cleveland Hall B Under-13 success at Beamish, while Redheugh were 9-0 winners over Whickham Fellside. …
