They Re Just Scumbags; Parents Agony as Son's Grave Is Desecrated in Vandal Raid

EACH day grieving mum Renee Davison feels the pain of losing her son.

And now grave thieves have torn her world apart.

Every day for the past 10 years Renee has visited Saltwell Cemetery in Gateshead where Gordon is buried.

He died 10 years ago, aged 31, after hitting his head on a radiator when he fell during an epileptic seizure.

It caused massive brain damage and after lying in a coma for 10 days he died in Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary.

Renee and her husband, also called Gordon, had placed a headstone with their son's photograph, Newcastle United emblem, vases and flowers.

And they lit up their shrine with two solar power lights.

But the couple were sickened when they arrived at the grave and found vandals had taken the lamps.

Today grandmother Renee branded the thieves scumbags who have no heart.

"You have to have lost a child you have bore to feel the real hurt," said Renee, 68, of Saltwell Road, Gateshead. …
