TEAMS are wanted for a new six-a-side football league about to kick off on Tyneside.

Newcastle Soccersixes, a company specialising in the organisation of small-sided football, is bringing the new league to Newcastle Grammar School.

The community league is scheduled to kick off in October and will run every Sunday between 6.00-9.00 on the school's full-size astroturf pitch, which will be divided into three six-a side pitches.

There will be 24 teams making up three divisions of eight teams, with a promotion and relegation system.

The league will cost pounds 2.50 per player and teams will also have the opportunity of playing against other teams from leagues across England in the Soccersixes' National Cup.

All equipment will be provided. Anyone over the age of 16 can enter and players do not need to be an established team, you can simply be a group of friends, work colleagues or mates from the pub. The league will be fully affiliated to the FA. …
