Fuel Thieves in Card Scam; Pair Admit Guilt over Petrol Theft

FUEL thieves stole thousands of pounds of petrol using cloned credit cards.

Rokib Ahmed and Kawser Choudhury would visit Tesco at Kingston Park, Newcastle, and fill up barrels with fuel.

They would then pay for it using cloned cards, stealing hundreds of litres of fuel in the process.

Now the pair have admitted theft at Newcastle Crown Court after they were caught on CCTV.

Tim Gittins, prosecuting, said: "The circumstances are the two defendants were caught by police on CCTV.

"They were filling up barrels with fuel having enabled the machine at Kingston Park Tesco with cloned cards.

"Similar devices were used on a number of previous occasions, but without CCTV it is difficult to establish who exactly was there on those occasions. There was more than one transaction, there were a number of them."

Ahmed, 30, of Imeary Street, South Shields, used one card on a number of occasions while Choudhury, 28, of Julian Avenue, South Shields, used three cards to dishonestly obtain fuel. …
