FINGERPRINT security specialist UK Biometrics has appointed MICHAEL KENNY and HUGH DOCHERTY to its UK sales consultancy team at its offices in Newcastle.

Michael worked in radio as a presenter for 15 years before moving on to a high-end software business role with NASDAQ listed companies. Hugh spent many years as a detective with the Metropolitan Police before changing career.

ANDY BARTON has joined Forum Marketing in Gosforth, with responsibility for managing PR and marketing for a number of its clients. Andy has a marketing background within the construction industry, having spent three years assisting in the national marketing strategy of housebuilder Barratt Homes.

Personal injury law firm Irwin Mitchell has strengthened its Newcastle team with the appointment of SUSAN McKENDRY as an associate solicitor within its education and public law division.

Prior to joining Irwin Mitchell, Susan worked for the Court of Appeal, which is part of The High Court of Justice, so she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in this area of law.

Newcastle-based commercial property consultant King Sturge has expanded its building consultancy team with the appointment of JAMES DIXON as its new surveyor.

James, who previously worked for Storeys SSP for three years in a similar role, gained his BSC (Hons) degree in building surveying from Northumbria University in 2004. He is now working towards his APC exam to become chartered and hopes to qualify next spring. In his new role, James will be carrying our various duties including dilapidations, building surveys and design and contract administration.

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) North-East and the Royal Institute of British Architects have further cemented their collaboration by appointing SUZANNE BLANEY as a joint regional administrator.
