Victory Lutheran Church is offering a solution.

The church, a mile north of the University of North Florida on Kernan Boulevard, is hosting "Kid Camps" for students in first through fifth grades on scheduled teacher planning days and school holidays.

The scheduled camp dates are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12; Friday, Jan. 18; Monday, Feb. 18; and Friday, March 28. They cost $45 per day. There is also a free camp scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.

Camp activities include videos, crafts, games, field trips and Bible lessons. Field trips in the planning stages may include trips to the University of North Florida pool and nature trails.

Buses will be provided for all field trips to shuttle children to and from field trip locations. …
