ONE long-standing export company has sold its goods in almost every corner of the globe.

The Edward Thompson Group (ETG) has been owned by the same family since its creation 150 years ago and is currently the world's biggest producer of bingo tickets.

Last week The Journal launched a drive to highlight the work being done by the region's export companies - after it emerged the North-East exports fewer goods than any other region in the country.

ETG director Paddy Cronin said: "For 30 years we have been exporting abroad and have previously been recipients of the Queens Award for Exporting.

"This is a vital aspect of our business. Our current turnover is around pounds 20m and something like 10% of this comes from exports."

The company recently sold into Uganda for the first time and has its sales tentacles across the globe.

As well as bingo tickets it also produces and supplies fundraising raffle and draw tickets and ballot and election papers. …
