MURDER suspect Amanda Knox was caught on camera entering the apartmentwhere a British student was murdered the same night, it emerged today.

The CCTV footage contradicts Knox's claim that she was at the house of her24-year-old boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito.

He is accused with her of murder and sexual violence against 21- year-oldMeredith Kercher, who was studying in Italy on an exchange from LeedsUniversity.

Cameras overlooking the house in Perugia have captured the 20-year-old Americanstudent at 8.43pm on 1 November dressed in a light-coloured skirt and top.

A post-mortem examination found Meredith, from Coulsdon in Surrey, was killedat about 11pm.

She had her throat cut and was left to bleed to death in agony in a lockedroom.

The damning revelation comes after Knox, who shared the flat with Meredith,told her mother Edda during a prison visit that she had not been at the murderscene.

Today a police source in Perugia, said: "It will be interesting to see what shehas to say when we show her the footage." Last week Knox claimed she had beenat the apartment and had covered her ears as she heard Meredith screaming fromher bedroom, where she had gone with the last of the three accused, Congolesebar owner Diya "Patrick" Lumumba, 44. Her leaked testimony named Lumumba as thekiller and Knox said that he had had sex with Meredith before she was killed.

Over the weekend Knoxwho police had described as a compulsive liartold her mother: "I've said some stupid things and made some wrong declarationsbut I want to tell you I was not at the house." Yesterday Edda Knox walkedthrough Perugia city centre with Amanda's father William and said: "We are heresupporting our daughter and she is confident that she will be released soon.

"Amanda is innocent of this and is devastated by the death of her friend, sheis completely distraught. …
