ROLL up, roll up - and help a Teesside roller skating group make a wish.

Tees Valley Roller Skating Club is eager for your support in our Wish campaign.

"Roller Skating is very rewarding for the kids," said coach Julia Bailey.

"They get to make lots of friends. It also builds their confidence. We've had kids who are so quiet and a few months later they're whizzing round the floor and they're chatty.

"It's a sport so it keeps the kids fit and active and keeps them off the streets.

"We've done really well in the competitions recently. We've got loads of trophies."

Members have competed at club, national and international level and scooped 24 medals during the Tyne Tees Tournament, 11 of which were gold.

Some who turn up for a skate are as young as four, and adults also join in.

Recently 10 new faces came through the group's doors.

The not-for-profit organisation runs on grants, fundraising, subs and support from the community. …
