BILLINGHAM Bombers scooped three out of a possible four English National League points in their latest round of back-to-back fixtures.

The Teessiders had to settle for a draw on the road at Kingston Jets but picked up maximum points 24 hours later by beating Blackburn at the Forum Ice Arena.

Bombers took the initiative to Kingston with Andy Fletcher firing them ahead inside a minute thanks to assistance from Price and Windridge.

The Bombers held on to their lead until two minutes into the second session when Dan Hackford punished the visitors' power play line with a short handed goal on the break.

Kingston ran into penalty troubles in the third session and Fletcher converted on the power play, netting his second of the night, assisted by Windridge and Thornton.

With just three minutes to play Hackford pulled the Jets level as he again caught the Bombers out as the Teessiders had a man advantage trying to set up on the power play.

The game finished all square at 2-2 and Billingham keeper James Flavell picked up the man-of-the-match award.

Bombers then returned home to face Blackburn Hawks, who are just outside a coveted top four play off spot.

The visitors caught the Bombers' defence high and broke away before Meikle tapped in a cross from Bentham.

Bombers pulled the game level as they piled on the pressure in a five-on-three power play and Scott Ward netted.

The hosts' second raised the cheer of the night as Stuart Gibbon fired a shot while on his knees and the unexpected effort caught goalie Daniel Brittle out of position and flew in via the bottom of the pipe.

The Hawks flew into the second and a well executed two-on-one pulled them level after only 22 seconds of the re-start.

With Billingham enjoying a power play advantage at the half-way mark, some good passing found Dave Thomas, who delivered a slap shot from the point that stretched the net. …
