JANE Goldstone's recent Chronicle feature on prejudices was one of her best yet. Well done, Jane.

Methinks that the reason many millions of people pre-judge others is ostensibly down to their way in which they think of social scenarios. Basically, these loafers are just too lazy to think even the simplest of things through step by step. I therefore applaud much of what you say, Jane.

Take this typical as an example - whenever couples argue over a mistake, the wrong-doer often protests their innocence by bawling, 'ah, but it was different when you made the same mistake the other week'. In fact, what their protest is saying is actually nonsensical. After all, the 'same' earlier mistake can't be different at all. It has to be the same.

I'M JUST ringing Vent Your Spleen to say I totally agree with B Madison, of Newcastle, who said pensioners are losing out on benefits in favour of young, single mothers who have never paid into the system. He/she was spot-on with the comments made in their letter.

AS, Walker.

ON THE subject of the Chronicle's story about racism at a recent Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur match and the subsequent poll - should racists be banned from football matches for life? …
