Letter Goes out to Wrong Parent Again; Child Benefits Debacle Goes On

A SECOND Tyneside parent has received the personal details of a another person as the child benefit bungle continues.

The 27-year-old, who has asked not to be identified, received the standard letter which is being sent out to claimants by HM Revenue and Customs in an attempt to reassure them.

It follows the missing data scandal originating from the department's Washington office.

The mother-of-three, from Newcastle, said she opened the letter thinking it had been addressed to her but found it was for a woman who had moved out in August.

The concerned mum says she is still waiting for her letter from HMRC, even though she has informed them of her change of address.

The latest worried parent told the Chronicle: "I just thought, where's mine?

I know they have my address because I have had letters from them since I have moved.

"I am just sitting here thinking, do people have my details?"

Her case follows that of Tina Young, right, from Seghill, Northumberland, who was sent a letter full of confidential information on another parent. …
