Nissan's New Specials Go Long Way Down

NISSAN is to introduce special versions of the Navara pick-up and Patrol 4x4 later this month to celebrate its partnership with the Long Way Down expedition currently being shown on BBC2.

In the series, actors Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman completed a 15,000-mile journey on motor bikes travelling from John o'Groats to Cape Town in South Africa.

They were supported for the trip by a crew travelling in two Nissan Patrols.

The new Navara and Patrol models are fitted with badges bearing the words Long Way Down plus decals and mats.

The Navara costs pounds 17,995 plus VAT and has been loaded with pounds 2,500 worth of equipment as standard.

This includes black leather upholstery with electric and heated front seats, roof rails, chrome door mirrors, electric sunroof and CD autochanger plus side and curtain airbags.

In addition to this Long Way Down model, there is an even more lavishly equipped version called the Long Way Down Expedition which costs an additional pounds 2,000 plus VAT but gains integrated DVD satellite navigation and premium audio, with automatic transmission adding a further pounds 1,100 plus VAT. …
