Matthew Davison is one of the graduates from the course and also an FE+ Award winner. He said: "The degree entailed work-based learning which I undertook through working for the college. I really enjoyed the course and the support I received was excellent."

Christine added: "Matthew proved to be an outstanding student putting in 100% effort and dedication to the course. This made him a worthy winner of the FE+ award earlier this year."

Another student at the college who has benefited from a foundation degree is 54-year-old Margaret Wright.

Margaret is part of the second cohort of Stockton Riverside College students who have gone on from completing the foundation degree in Childcare to improve her qualifications with a one-year BA Honours top up.

Margaret said: "It has been a great experience and I have become very interested in social development aspects of education. I feel I have a lot to offer this sector for many years to come."
