CHESS is played at many different speeds.

Rapidplay chess is a compromise, permitting a tournament to be completed in one day, with five games each lasting a maximum of one hour. There has been a local North East Rapidplay circuit now for some years, organised by Graham Marshall of Hartlepool. This season there have been two events so far, and a third is imminent. This is being played at Gosforth Chess Club on Saturday at the Empire Club in Salters Road. The organiser is Noel Boustred, on 07903 913 786.
