I OFTEN ask my clients what motivates them most in life and what therefore drives them. This is one way I help people identify the really important things that matter most and another way of helping clients to reach their full potential and ultimate happiness. During a sleepless night I found myself thinking about what motivates me the most, and I realised that I'm driven by a wish to make our world a better place and by a love of people and nature and a love of life itself. After all, it was love that brought me to the North East nearly six years ago, when I met and fell in love with my husband Clive. It wasn't easy leaving the friends and family I loved in order to move here, but there was never a question of him being able to leave the North East because of his two children. The only scary part in re-locating was that I knew no other person other than my Geordie Boy, as I often call him. I told myself that I would need to do whatever I could to settle here and that three things had to be in place. Being an independent spirit, the first thing I wanted to do was to establish new friendships. Secondly I wanted to be financially independent and lastly that I'd make a difference up here. The latter meant I had to become part of a new community where I could contribute something of value. This clarity helped me create the desired outcomes, and one by one I am proud to say that I have achieved all three intentions.
