NEWCASTLE defender David Rozehnal has revealed how a post-match gee-up from soccer legend Diego Maradona managed to put a smile back on the faces of his deflated team-mates.

The Magpies were gunned down for the second time in four days by an identical 3-0 scoreline at The Emirates, with Kevin Keegan still looking for that elusive first win - and goal - in his third stint as boss.

Czech star Rozehnal played in a holding role in North London last night, but couldn't prevent another defeat.

But speaking on Argentina icon Maradona's shock appearance in the Toon dressing room afterwards, Rozehnal told the Chronicle: "We met Diego after the game he came in the dressing room.

"It was really nice of him. It was a lift for us and was quite surreal.

"To meet such a big name in football is great, and something to remember for us."

United - whose defeat was also watched by former Entertainer David Ginola - have now been soundly beaten in all three of their visits to the Emirates this season, and dumped out of the FA Cup and Carling Cup at what is turning into a nightmare venue.

And reflecting on the latest loss, Rozehnal added: "It was disappointing again. Arsenal are a good team, but I think we are playing well in patches.

"But we haven't picked up a result again.

"That is a concern and we can't rest easily until we do get that win."

Newcastle's next test is at home to Middlesbrough at Gallowgate on Saturday, with the Toon Army waiting for their first Premier League win of 2008.

The former Paris St Germain player added: "Once we get three points it will clear our heads and take off some of the pressure.

"Middlesbrough gives us a chance to do that."
