ARSENE WENGER today backed David Beckham to come out fighting and proveto Fabio Capello that he deserves to win his 100th England cap.

The 32-year-old was left out of Capellos squad for the friendly againstSwitzerland next week, after the Italian insisted he hadnt played enoughcompetitive football leading up to the game.

However, Beckham has spent the last month training at London Colney with theGunners squad and the Arsenal manager has witnessed at first hand the32-year-olds desire to continue in international football.

This guy deserves a lot of credit and I tell you, every day he was first out,last in, said Wenger. Give him competitive games with LA Galaxy and he willfight and come back for his 100th cap.

He worked with us for four weeks. The first two weeks we gave him exclusivelyto [Arsenal fitness trainer] Tony Colbert to do fitness work. In the third weekhe was with us a lot and we were all amazed at how good he was. …
