Man Admits to Hammer Murder; Victim Left in Pool of Blood

A KILLER left his victim in a pool of blood after a brutal hammer and knife attack.

Christopher Blacklock, 32, was found with multiple injuries in a Tyneside flat.

David Proctor, 31, of Car-donnel Street, North Shields, admitted murder at Newcastle Crown Court yesterday. He had kicked and stamped on his helpless victim.

Mr Blacklock, of Willing-ton Quay, Wallsend, died after being attacked in Wallsend on September 19 last year.

Police were alerted by a phone tip-off and found Mr Blacklock in Proctor's flat at 9.50pm.

He had multiple injuries and later died in North Tyne-side General Hospital.

Proctor, who was known as Tony, was arrested at the address and subsequently interviewed and charged with murder.

Det Insp Steve Barron, who led the investigation, said: "I'm satisfied with today's plea.

"Christopher had suffered a significant number of injuries as a result of being assaulted with a knife and a hammer. …
