PASSPORTS/VISAS

Personal identification is advisable to enter Ireland, eg passport or driving licence. (UK nationals do not require a passport to visit Ireland).

EU nationals have the right to live and work in Ireland without a work permit.

UK/EU nationals working in Ireland have the same rights as Irish nationals with regard to pay, working conditions, access to housing, vocational training, social security and trade union membership. Families and immediate dependants are entitled to join them and have similar rights.

TRAVEL

There are regular flights to Ireland including flights from Durham Tees Valley Airport to Dublin on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays and it takes about an hour.

Ferries run from Liverpool, Holyhead and Pembroke to Ireland.

The main airport is Dublin International.

Taxis from Dublin Airport to the city centre cost around 25 Euro.
