GHI Computers Hebburn Athletic played out a 1-1 draw in the League Cup against The Prospect.

Hebburn were worth at least a 2-0 half-time lead with the wind playing into their hands - but poor finishing and fine goalkeeping saw The Prospect turn it around at 0-0.

On the resumption, the Prospect applied the pressure and the break through came courtesy of Craig Collins.

With the ball played out of defence, Craig picked the ball up just inside the opposition's half and, after a neat one-two, beat two tackles and slotted the ball low and into the corner.

The Prospect had further chances but proved too profligate in front of goal.

With 10 minutes to go, Ian Arthur latched on to a lose ball and from 30 yards unleashed a thunderous shot into the top corner of the net to give the home side a well-deserved draw.

The Prospect still made them sweat, though, in the final minutes as Gav Colley should had won the game after a well-centred ball was put narrowly over the bar with a free header. …
