Dun Doire Gets Final Place; Made It: Irish-Trained Dun Doire Got in at Aintree after an Injury to Cornish Rebel

CONNECTIONS of Dun Doire struck it lucky today as the nine-year-oldsecured the final guaranteed place in Saturday's Grand National after CornishRebel was ruled out with a minor foot injury.

Dun Doire, who has been cut three points into 25-1 by Blue Square, was pulledup in the race last year but his Irish trainer, Tony Martin, was relieved justto get in the race and is hopeful of a better show this time.

He said: "It's a big relief. We've been training him for this race for thewhole year and it would have been disappointing for everyone concerned if hehadn't got in." Lisa Williamson, trainer of Cornish Rebel, said: "Unfortunatelyhe's just got a problem with one of his feet. It is just something minor, butit is enough to stop us running on Saturday." Martin, who trains at CountyMeath in Ireland, has booked jockey Richard McGrath for the ride on Dun Doire.

He said: "It's the first time he's been on him but he's a very good, underratedrider. …
