MARKETING company Silver Bullet has appointed Helmut Okike as a new business development manager.

Helmut, born in Lagos, Nigeria, is a graduate in business management from the University of Sunderland and has worked in sales and marketing roles for Carphone Warehouse, Edinburgh-based Qvision and Eaga plc.

A studying member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing currently working on his postgraduate diploma in marketing, Helmut is enjoying the freedom that the new post brings.

He said: "There's a huge difference between working in plcs and working for a small agency like Silver Bullet, but the opportunities to make a real difference here make it a fantastic challenge.

"With Qvision, I'd worked in media sales with large London-based agencies on behalf of major plcs and was fascinated by the way they merged their creativity with sound business advice and management.

"My time at Eaga gave me the knowledge to put marketing theory and customer intelligence into practice and that's what I hope to bring to Silver Bullet.

"I talked to a number of media and business contacts about the agency before making my decision - the feedback was tremendously positive in that they were a very honest, hard working, no-nonsense and experienced integrated agency who produced fantastic work but undersold themselves and their talent. …
