TEES Valley Regeneration recently welcomed a delegation from the State Region of Moravia-Silesia in the Czech Republic looking to learn more about regeneration.

The delegation, including representatives from the state administration, regional agency and regional council officers, visited Tees Valley Regeneration as part of a two day regional tour to hear about the Urban Regeneration Company's work in the area - including ongoing successes, work in progress and future plans.

Chief executive Joe Docherty briefed them on developments at the five flagship physical regeneration projects at Middlehaven, Middlesbrough; North Shore, Stockton; Victoria Harbour, Hartlepool, Central Park Darlington and SKYLINK International Business Park at Durham Tees Valley Airport.

They also discussed inward investment and the plans for a Metro network Tees Valley Regeneration, working with the area's five local authorities, has put forward to the Department for Transport.

Mr Docherty said: "It was a great opportunity to share news of the fantastic developments which we are leading across the Tees Valley and to update on what is still yet to come.

"The Tees Valley and Moravia-Silesia are very similar in their heritage and as such it was appropriate that the North East Assembly chose to bring the delegation to Tees Valley Regeneration.

"We were able to share the ways we attract business and investment which utilizes our infrastructure and experience and also give examples of Tees Valley's growing involvement in the renewables and sustainable industries.

"It was a very positive visit and I look forward to hearing more about their region and projects in the near future."
