WITH a little help from his friendsand his familySir Paul McCartney put the pain of his divorce behind him when he opened anexhibition of photographs by his first wife Linda, who died 10 years ago thismonth.

Friends including Kate Moss and George Michael joined Sir Paul and his childrenStella, James and Maryalso a photographerfor a private view at the James Hyman Gallery in the West End.

Other guests included artists Tracey Emin, Sam Taylor-Wood and Sir Peter Blakethe designer of the cover of the Beatles Sgt Pepper albumas well as the group's former producer Sir George Martin, photographer DavidBailey and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd.

The photographspicked by Sir Paul, 65, with Maryinclude portraits of John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, PaulSimon and Art Garfunkel. The display also shows her range, with familyphotographs, landscapes and interiors.

Before the opening Sir Paul described how seeing the pictures brought backmemories of "little things" like "the way that she held her camera". …
