WORRIED about the euro? If so, why not cruise on a ship that uses pounds sterling or American dollars?

That's the advice of Beryl Gibson, director of Northumbria Travel in Bedlington.

The remarkable growth in the market for cruising in recent years has proved to be highly successful for Northumbria Travel, one of the region's longest standing independent travel agencies.

The firm has acted as agents for some of the world's best known cruise lines over the past 25 years, and whilst travel abroad continues to increase every year, cruising is proving to be the most popular growth area.

Beryl said: "Many cruise lines operate in pounds sterling or US dollars which avoids our clients suffering the poor rate of exchange with the euro at present."

Northumbria Travel has had a long and friendly association with Fred Olsen and other well-known shipping lines.
