PAUL CRAWLEY has joined Newcastle law firm Mark Gilbert Morse (MGM). He specialises in both residential and commercial property law, and has recently qualified as an assistant solicitor at the firm after joining in October 2003.

He began working at MGM as a paralegal in the industrial disease department - carrying out tasks such as preparing legal documentation and conducting research for client cases - soon after graduating with a LLB (honours) law degree from the University of Sunderland.

Fitness fan LOU DAVIDSON has been appointed as gym manager at the Springs health club in Newcastle. The 28-year-old, who has a first-class degree in integrated health and a foundation degree in sports therapy, moved from Tyneside to be European senior sports therapist at a top ski resort in Switzerland and the former Gosforth High School pupil is happy to move back to her home city.

A recruitment company that places workers all round the world has announced the appointment of a specialist with inside knowledge of the sector in which he will work. Tech Consult UK Ltd, based at the Wilton Centre near Redcar, has taken on MATTHEW ELENER as recruitment consultant. Before joining the company, Matthew's experience included three and a half years as an engineer with the Merchant Navy, working for BP, and work at another recruitment company.

Premier Waste Management has appointed DARREN SMITH as development manager for recycling, in order to develop on the Durham company's business strategy.

Darren, from Darlington, will develop the profile of Premier's recycling division, as well as re-evaluating Premier's recycling business processes from a strategic and cost-effective point of view in order to drive business forward. …
