Surely the solution has to be anyone bringing to dealers lead in quantities should have their photographs and fingerprints taken

I WONDER if the policeman driving through Greenside at 9.35am on Tuesday might show a bit more courtesy towards other road-users by using his indicators in future, instead of letting people try to guess his direction of travel. Shouldn't the police be leading by example?

REGARDING the strike at Grangemouth, with the oil workers saying it was to do with the Government and started in 1997. They did the same with the miners, when there were millions plundered out of it. Nothing changes.

THE new City Link from Hadrian Park is excellent. The new buses are clean and really comfortable. The driver on the bus 5291 was cheerful and most helpful, it made the journey very pleasant.

WITH all of the stolen lead around from churches and so on surely the solution has to be anyone bringing lead in quantities to dealers should have their photographs and fingerprints taken. Failure to do so and the fines with jail sentences should be quick and instant. Without the dealers buying this and other metals there would be no stealing as these people are the one seeing this metal or metals continue on to China and India.

SO they are now panicking about the oil refinery closing down. Well I say it serves them right for closing our best reserves, the coalmines.

NO DOUBT the Royal Air Force will be flooded with applications from young men and women now that they are aware that they can have the use of a helicopter to fly to stag and hen parties, not to mention weddings and family visits. This is a novel way to get new recruits. Why didn't they think of it sooner and are the other armed forces going to follow suit and lend out tanks and destroyers for social and private use during training?
