The eligibility list for next week's Players Championship continues to reshuffle, with the losses of Arron Oberholser and Loren Roberts on Wednesday.

Oberholser has been plagued by a shoulder injury for most of the season. Roberts, who qualified for the tournament by winning the 2007 Senior Players Championship, told the PGA Tour that he was not competing next week because it would have resulted in seven consecutive tournaments, six on the Champions Tour.

Tim Wilkinson of New Zealand replaced Oberholser on the list of eligible players. Roberts will not technically be replaced, but because the list is down to 143 (the minimum for the tournament is 144), Matt Jones will be added Monday, if the winner of this week's Wachovia Championship hasn't already qualified.

Eligible players have until 5 p.m. Friday to enter, or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the second round of the Wachovia, if they are in the field.

The next player behind Jones on the alternates list is two-time Players champion Fred Couples. The alternates are drawn from the current FedEx Cup points list.

PLAYERS SELLOUT IMMINENT

Remaining tickets for The Players Championship could be sold out by the weekend, at the current pace.

A limited number of daily and weekly grounds tickets are still available through a "click and print" system on www.pgatour.com/theplayers. Some daily and weekly grounds tickets, Island Club and clubhouse tickets are still on sale at participating Publix stores or by calling (904) 285-PUTT.

Fans also are reminded that parking passes to the general lot near the course for competitive rounds must be purchased, at $20 per day or $50 for the week. Those passes also can be purchased at Publix and through The Players ticket office number.

Parking is free at the general lot during practice-round days Monday through Wednesday or at the public lots at the University of North Florida all week. Parking and shuttles from UNF are free. …
