Four-Year-Old Charlie Has Real Drive.Could He Be the Next Tiger Woods?

POCKET rocket golfer Charlie Andrews has become the youngest ever member of his dad's golf club - at the tender age of four.

The great Tiger Woods started out at about that age, so members are wondering if Charlie could follow in his footsteps.

Charlie, of Romanby, near Northallerton started playing golf in his back garden aged 18 months with his dad Dave, using plastic clubs and has been hooked on the game ever since.

"It's great", he says.

Now Charlie, who is still too young to go to primary school, regularly masters the six-hole academy practice course at Romanby Golf and Country Club near Northallerton where each hole is 100-150 yards.

Club experts say he strikes the ball really well, is a natural hitter, with fantastic hand-eye co-ordination and an ace putter.

Dave - a member from 1993 when the club first opened, with a 10 handicap, said: "Whenever Charlie knew I was going to the golf club to practise he would pester me to let him come too. …
