HE'S spent the last seven months learning how to walk again after a mystery illness almost claimed his life.

But Riverside legend Frankie "Bam Bam"

Boynton quickly found his feet during Boro's momentous 8-1 thrashing of Man City on Sunday.

The super-fan had vowed to be at his beloved club's final match of the season - despite being released from hospital only five days before.

And the 59-year-old was so bowled over by what he saw, he went out and renewed his season ticket the next day.

"It was unbelievable. It got me back on my feet," said Frank, who couldn't help but jump for joy every time Boro notched one against the Lancastrian side.

"I'm wobbling today because it took a lot out of me but it was a different class.

"Apart from when my kids were born, it was one of the best moments of my life.

"In the ground people were coming up to me and saying 'I'm so glad to see you again.

We thought we'd lost you'. …
