SARASOTA - There's only one way to describe Eagle's View Academy's baseball team. The Warriors are a dynasty.

Eagle's View erupted early, then held off a late rally by Tampa Cambridge Christian to win 8-6 on Tuesday at Ed Smith Stadium and repeat as Class 1A state champions.

Chris Dunnington led Eagle's View with three RBI and Austin Maddox drove in two. Kyle Russo pitched five strong innings to earn the win and went 2 for 3 at the plate.

In six playoff games, the Warriors outscored their foes 82-19.

"What Eagle's View has done over the last several years is really an unbelievable accomplishment," Cambridge coach Rick Shears said. "We know how much work, dedication and sacrifice it takes to get here. My hat is off to them."

After the start of the game was delayed two hours because of rain, Eagle's View opened with three runs in both the first and second innings. Dunnington drove in two runs with a two-out single in the first, then drew a bases-loaded walk in the second. …
