THE office market in South Tyneside has benefited from the local authority and developers nurturing a now flourishing business environment to create a conducive and cost effective commercial district.
The area possesses a number of attributes which have proved particularly attractive to the SMEs that thrive here. Its location is paramount - home to over 150,000 people and more than 3,000 businesses, it also enjoys excellent road links to Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Durham, as well as access overseas through the Port of Tyne and Durham Tees Valley and Newcastle airports.
The region also offers a great deal of geographical and lifestyle variety making it an attractive place to live and work.
In addition to busy city centres, South Tyneside has the added draw of some striking countryside, towns and villages.
Businesses are receiving valued commercial support from the council, with initiatives such as "South Tyneside Means Business" providing advice and assistance to ensure that legal enterprises get off the ground and prosper.
This activity is bolstered by a great deal of inward investment into the area, which has seen the development of a number of quality office premises, retail units and industrial space to meet increased demand.
