BLAKELAW Social Club manager Alan Forster has paid tribute to his side after their league and cup double this season.

The Newcastle outfit won the North East Sunday League Premier Division title for the third season in a row - and followed this up with the Bob Younger Association Cup to cap a glittering campaign.

Blakelaw's domination of the championship in the last three years is a fantastic achievement for the club.

Forster said: "It is all down to the players again for winning this.

"They have done the club and themselves proud.

"We would also like to say a very special thank you to Colin Burr, our team secretary. Without his time and dedication we would not be in this position today."

Blakelaw have also been supported throughout the campaign by Blakelaw Social Club, Five Star Decoraters, Walton Coach Travel and Billy Callanan and Jimmy Berry. Forster added: "This a great result for the team, the club and the entire community. …
