I-robbed

According to police, a Bartram Trail student left her I-pod and cell phone under some clothes in an unlocked locker during her gym class. When she returned to her locker the items were missing. The student was unsure of who stole the items, but said that many other girls in the class also had items stolen previously as well. The student reported the incident to a dean at the school, filled out a report and said she hopes to use the phone's GPS system to trace its location.

Love on the rocks

Police report that on May 5 a local resident was on a match-making Web site when she began to e-mail a man who said he lived in Beverly Hills, California but was currently in Nigeria on business. On May 19 he asked the victim if he could borrow $2,000, but then said that $1,800 would suffice. The victim wired $1,800 to the man. After confirming he received the money, he told the victim he was coming back to the U.S. and on his way to California would stop in Jacksonville to pay her back. …
