THERE was another good turn-out of 36 players competing in the Mark Williams Memorial Darts Tournament at Bedlington Station WMC.

Davy Prins and Andy Lynn, who have both been beaten in finals in recent weeks, were joined by Alan Davie and John Watson among this week's front runners.

In the first-half draw, Davy Prins saw off the challenge of Mac Hedley, Dave Smurthwaite, Steve Annon and Davy Dodds to set up the first final against Andy Lynn, who in turn had his work cut out to fend off Matty Willis, Paul Bell, Mark Wilson and Alan Davie.

The second half of the draw was just as tense, with John Watson showing good form to get past Phil Borthwick, G Peat, Arthur Dobey and Micky Luke.

Meanwhile, Andy Lynn was yet again forging his way to a second final appearance with wins against Brian Sloanes, Tony Wood, Arthur Dobey and another final victory over Alan Davie.

In the first final, Lynn took control with three tons in a firstleg win in 18 darts, but Prins struck back with a 19-dart winning leg, and followed up with a smart 18-darter before finishing the game off with a 17-dart leg, including a 180 and 123. …
