Stars Fined after Shame of Rugby Tour to NZ

TOPSY OJO and Mike Brown have been found guilty of misconduct followinga Rugby Football Union investigation into England's scandal-hit tour of NewZealand.

But Jeff Blackett, the RFU's chief disciplinary officer, found David Strettleand Danny Care not guilty.

London Irish winger Ojo was fined [pounds sterling]500 and reprimanded for staying out allnight. Harlequins' full-back Brown was fined [pounds sterling]1,000 and reprimanded after alsostaying out all night and arriving late for a physio appointment.

Ojo, Brown and Care were at the centre of sex allegations from a womanfollowing England's 37-20 defeat by the All Blacks in Auckland on 14 June. Butno official complaint was made against the players, who denied any wrongdoing,and Blackett found no evidence to support the claims.

Explaining the sequence of events that led to the allegations being made,Blackett reported that Brown and Ojo had been on a night out with other playersin the wake of the First Test. …
