Article excerpt

Byline: Wesley Mitchell

The YMCA of Arlington offers camps and programs year round, and for the remainder of July and in August they are offering a Tae Kwon Do program for ages 6 to adult.

The program is paid by the month and is cheaper for members of the YMCA, but is by no means expensive. Both the beginners and advanced classes will meet at the YMCA on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a 30-minute to one-hour lesson.

Tae Kwon Do is a South Korean national sport and combines the physical aspects with the mental to make it not only fun but educational. Tae Kwon Do is arguably the most popular type of martial art and can help you defend yourself if and when needed. For more about signing up for the beginners or the advanced class, visit the Arlington YMCA or call 744-2233.

The Players' season is not over yet, as they still have an extensive schedule remaining. To find out more about the Players or to view a schedule on when and where they will be playing next, visit www.eteamz.com/JacksonvillePlayers/.
