O'Toole's Praise for the Blues

DUBLIN legend Anton O'Toole has applauded the Blues' super display in seeing off Wexford in Sunday's Leinster final - but stresses there is still room for improvement.

O'Toole won four All-Ireland medals during a glittering career though Dublin have only added one title, in 1995, since his retirement.

He expected a stiffer challenge from Wexford after their results against Meath and Laois but Dublin exposed them particularly in midfield and their defence to eventually run up a record 23-point win.

O'Toole said: "They had a threat up front but I think we did exploit their weaknesses very well.

"Overall, I thought a lot of players played very well. Paul Griffin is back and he did well. David Henry played well - he really has excelled this season.

"The backs and midfield do an awful lot of work to get the ball up front but they tend to carry it a lot.

"Shane Ryan had a great game the last day but it takes a lot out of fellas when they're having to carry the ball out of defence all the time, through the midfield and into the forward line. …
