AN INNOCENT teenager was shot dead at a south London supermarket after being caught up in a drive-by attack.

Ryan Bravo, 18, was hit in the back by a single bullet after gunmen on mopeds fired at two youths trying to flee into a Costcutter store in Walworth.

The business student was entering the store with his brothers, one aged 14, and some friends when up to five youths pulled up on the pavement on three mopeds.

Police believe two gunmen opened fire at the two running into the super-market but hit Ryan. The teenager, who was studying at a local college, staggered to the back of the shop before collapsing.

Air ambulance paramedics treated him at the scene but he was pronounced dead nearly an hour later.

Ryan is the 22nd to be killed in London this year and the third to be shot.

A family friend, who was comfort-ing Ryans mother Frida, today said: He had so much to look forward to. His whole life was ahead of him. His mother is in tears.

His girlfriend of a year, who did not want to be named, said: He was a really, really, great guy and he was completely innocent.

Detective Superintendent Gary Richardson of the Operation Tri-dent squad, which targets gun crime in the black community, said: It appears at this stage that the victim has no links to gang activity and that he was an innocent bystander.& The victim was walking down Wal-worth Road with family members. As they entered Costcutter, two black men forced their way into the shop behind them as if they were trying to get away from something. …
