OLYMPICS

BUT FIRST, A POEM

With apologies to Roger Bull, who usually contributes a poem - a much, much better poem - to this spot every other Monday but had the week off.

Sittin' in a couch all comfy and cushy,

Listenin' to Costas getting all gushy.

Hey look! Another closeup

of a beach volleyball star's tushie!

Thank goodness the Olympics are over.

Athletes from Paris and Katmandu

China, Australia, Uzbekistan, too.

Is there anything that

Thank goodness the Olympics are over.

We've watched the Games and drunk our beers

Screamed ourselves hoarse with "USA" cheers

And now we have to wait

for four more years?

Too bad the Olympics are over.

The site, www.wordmagazine.co.uk/album_atlas/, claims the Skynyrd shot was taken on Main Street in Jonesboro, Ga.
