Shouting out about How Miller Does It Miway

Article excerpt

CONFIDENCE in the property market is low, yet everyone needs a home and the long-term picture for property is always up. Mortgage availability has been hit by the credit crunch and first-time buyers are increasingly concerned about their ability to get a loan to get on to the property ladder.

Builders Miller Homes is as committed to helping first-time buyers step on to the property ladder, and in a series of events taking place in bars in Newcastle, Sunderland and Darlington will take away much of the mystery around buying a first home.

Miller is hosting a series of Movers and Groovers events in September and October, giving would-be first time buyers the chance to put their questions to industry experts.

Sales director Debbie Dunthorne explained: "First-time buyers have never had a better time to buy, but recent media scaremongering means that many are showing caution over whether to make that all-important step.

"Our Movers and Groovers events are really informal, so whether you're single, looking to buy with a partner, or would be purchasing with a friend, we're here to help. Mortgage advisers, financial adviser Carolyne Mableson, and Miller sales staff will be on hand to talk through finance packages and specially tailored deals, so it's a great opportunity for those with a typically busy lifestyle to find out just how affordable and realistic owning your own home can be.

"For example, we're now offering 'MiWay' to first time buyers, which is a 'pay 75% now, 25% later' interest-free shared equity option. This complements our competitive pricing, and puts buyers in a much stronger position when applying for finance. Available on selected Miller apartment schemes throughout the region, it's just one example of how cost effective we can make buying a home."

The 'Movers and Groovers' events will run in Newcastle on September 20, in Sunderland on September 27 and in Darlington on October 4, with refreshments served throughout the day.

Debbie added: "We want to make it as simple and stress-free as possible for first time buyers - so come to one of our 'Movers and Groovers' events and say 'yes' to buying your first home."

The events will take place at the following venues:

Revolution, Collingwood Street, Newcastle on Saturday, 20 September (1pm-6pm)

Chase, Park Lane, Sunderland on Saturday, 27 September (1pm-6pm)

Yates Wine Lodge, Skinnergate, Darlington on Saturday, 4 October (noon-6pm)
