SAINT Cuthbert's RC YMT played Calvary Christian Fellowship in the first round of the Andy Walker Trophy.

With both teams playing at the same ground there was no advantage, other than Saints being the Premier Division and Calvary in Division One.

That proved the difference as Keith Vincent scored twice and David Maddison once for a 3-0 half-time lead for Saints.

Vincent completed his hat-trick and David Fittes scored to clinch a 5-0 victory.

In Group B, David Laidler put Stockton Churches Hebron 1-0 ahead just before halftime.

Michael Clarke equalised for Saint John's Snods Edge, but in the second half Philip Hall scored the winner for Hebron.

Last season's Group C finalists, Saint Wilfrid's Newbiggin Hall, got off to a strong start, going into a 5-0 half-time lead over Whitley Bay Baptist Church.

The game finished 8-2, with Scott Ormston netting four, Malcolm Donaldson a hat-trick and Alan Cheetham one. Aaron Moulding nabbed Baptist's consolations. …
