AS MORE people particularly women look to work flexibly and fit employment around their other commitments, one organisation is dedicated to working to deliver solutions and keep talented staff within the NHS.

NHS Professionals Special Health Authority is the leader of f lexible workers' services to the NHS, providing high quality flexible staff to 131 Trusts across the country.

It could provide you with work to fit around child care or study, for example, with all the benefits of being part of the NHS team.

The 45,000 flexible workers in its staff "bank" also get the benefit of competitive rates of pay, access to the NHS Pension Scheme (subject to status), paid annual leave, statutory maternity and sick pay, free mandatory training and the opportunity to increase your skills.

As an NHS employer, NHS Professionals works with many Trusts across the country so it can offer the first choice of shifts for flexible working.

Charlotte Morton joined NHS Professionals in 2001, working as a Theatre Nurse in Recovery at King George's Hospital, Ilford. Living with her child and partner, NHS Professionals gives Charlotte the opportunity to work a couple of days a week, doing an interesting job she enjoys with the flexibility to look after her family.

"I used to be a Sister in ITU at King George's so I knew the hospital and I wanted to carry on working there after

I'd had my family," she says. "Through NHS Professionals, I can still enjoy my job, in a hospital that I know and spend time with my family so it's a great balance." A big plus for Charlotte is the flexibility. "With the online booking system, I can view and book the available shifts at home, so it's quick and easy to find work without having to make phone calls or wait for people to call back," she adds.
