Pals Raise a Glass to Sharon; Tragic Daughter Tribute

TONIGHT will be a party bash to remember - but the birthday girl in question will not be there to sip her champagne.

More than 250 family and friends will gather to raise a glass for Sharon Pinchen's 38th birthday, even though she died six months ago.

And they are digging deep into their wallets and purses to raise cash for the hospice that helped her in her final days.

Today her parents, Tom and Pam Pinchen, told how they will remember their daughter as thousands of pounds are gathered in her memory.

Pam, 60, of Yewburn Way, Longbenton, North Tyneside, said: "Sharon was a special daughter who got along with everyone. The fact that so many people are coming to tonight's party shows how well she was liked and is missed.

"We are raising money for the Marie Curie Hospice and Sharon would be delighted how people have donated to help our cause. This is our party for Sharon and to raise money to thank the hospice for what they did."

Tom, 62, said: "Sharon will be there with us tonight. We have already raised pounds 2,500 from ticket sales and raffles. It shows how many people loved her."

The event, at the Four Lane Ends Social Club, has also been organised by friend Angie Armstrong. …
