sunglasses at night

A business owner reported a burglary to her store in the Bartram Oaks Walk shopping center during the night of Sept. 18. The front glass door of the business was shattered after the suspect used a concrete block to break through it.

The shop owner told the reporting deputy the only item stolen was a case of sunglasses valued at more than $2,200. Video surveillance footage of the incident showed the thief did not take anything else from the store.

A report indicates the shop owner suspected the thief was the same young male who visited the store a week prior and asked to look at sunglasses. The man then left without making a purchase. The video footage showed the suspect was a young male and the victim stated very few men visit her shop.

At the time of publication deputies had not made any arrests in conjunction with the incident.

On Sept. 20 an officer from the Sheriff's Office responded to a call of criminal activity in the 2100 block of Flora Branch Blvd. in Julington Creek Plantation. Two youths reported seeing a third youth ride a motorcycle in a nearby grassy area and stated the motorcycle was causing damage to the property. Upon the officer's arrival, the suspect admitted to causing damage to the turf and apologized.

A report states the office contacted a property manager at May Management who stated the company wished to press charges against the youth. The representative said this is a frequent occurrence in the area and costs the management company thousands of dollars to repair.

mystery dents

A resident of the 600 block of Box Branch Cir. called the Sheriff's Office on Sept. 23 to report damage to his car. The victim told the deputy he heard four loud "bangs" outside of the residence, and went to investigate. Outside he found a number of large dents in his car, and discovered the driver's side mirror had been removed from the vehicle. The victim stated he did not see anyone in the area, nor did he hear any vehicles leaving the area.
