Mascots Mix It Up for Cash; GO GREEN Relay Racers Set Pace for Charity

MASCOTS went head-to-head in a charity challenge.

The Ringtons teapot mascot squared up to Mr Hearty, the British Heart Foundation mascot, Newcastle Falcons' Flash the Falcon and Mencap mascot Dennis the Menace for a relay challenge.

The race, which was held at half time during the Falcons versus Bristol game, helped to raise awareness and funds for the two charities, supported by the club and the tea firm.

Ringtons also wanted to show their support to one of their salesmen, Mark Fisher.

Mark, 24, who is the assistant manger of the Thornaby office, decided to run the Great North Run to raise money for the British Heart Foundation after losing mum Christine, 56, to a heart attack last year. As a dedicated employee, along with his dad and two brothers, who also work for the tea and coffee merchants, Ringtons wanted to further support Mark's campaign.

Ringtons director Jon Malton took on the role of the teapot and Mark proudly ran the obstacle course as Mr Hearty. …
