NEWCASTLE United overcame a resolute Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 at Coach Lane to make it three wins on the trot and go joint third in the Women's Premier League Northern Division.

The Magpies took the game to Wednesday from the start and had a clear chance to open their account on 13 minutes.
